The ATM edit
As we prepare to join our colleagues and clients at World ATM Congress in Madrid next week, this latest issue of ON AIR! focuses on some key topics in aviation and ATM, which I expect we will continue to discuss throughout the event.
With the digital transformation, an important topic coming up for ANSPs is data centres. Their use for hosting applications is common in other sectors, but not so much in ATM. When considering whether use of a data centre is the way forward for your organisation, it is important to develop a strategy that considers the business goals and key risks. Does your organisation have a strategic plan for use of data centres? See some thoughts on this in our article 'Data centres - at the heart of digital transformation'. When undertaking a digital transformation, cybersecurity is also a concern, but what rules and regulations are out there right now, and do they go far enough? You can see the latest state of play in our article 'The state of European ATM cybersecurity'. Airspace capacity is another key topic, but one that isn't easy to solve. In our article 'Capacity crunch - are we looking low enough?', Philip Church asks whether we should be putting more focus on lower airspace in order to unlock additional capacity.
I'm pleased to announce Helios has recently bolstered its leadership team, with four new Director appointments, reflecting our continued growth. Please join me in congratulating them on their new roles. Read the full story and news on other promotions in HOT AIR.
Lastly, I invite you to join us on stand #339 at World ATM Congress where we will be happy to exchange views on the aviation hot topics of now and the future. We hope to see you there.
With best wishes,
